Massimo Giordano was born in Pompeii and studied in Trieste. He performs for opera companies including La Scala, Milan, Rome Opera, La Fenice, Venice, Metropolitan Opera, New York, Royal Opera House (London), Lyric Opera of Chicago, Paris Opéra, Bavarian State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg Festival. He has worked with such conductors as Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta and Antonio Pappano, and with directors including John Copley, Jonathan Miller, Graham Vick and Franco Zeffirelli.
Engagements include Cavaradossi for Vienna State Opera, Paris Opéra, Metropolitan Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Korean National Opera, Don José (Carmen) for Arena di Verona and Deutsche Oper Berlin, Pollione (Norma) for Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera and in Beijing, Des Grieux in Baden-Baden, Muscat and Hanover, Rodolfo (La bohème) for Paris Opéra and Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) and Andrea Chénier for Vienna State Opera.
